Julie Oswin is the founder of Vision Media (Est 2010). An adept artist and creator, she has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years, a trainer and mentor. Her flair for design earned her a position in 2014 as Designer and Editor of Creative Light Magazine, the official magazine of the Guild of Photographers.
As an album designer, Julie started out designing her wedding albums in 1999 by hand drawing the design on paper and then sending it to Jorgensen, Australia. Ever the perfectionist, she drew diagrams to illustrate precisely how mounts should be cut to ensure every product with her name on it passed her rigorous standards. Over the years, Julie moved to solely digital album design, and along the way, over several years, she mastered web development combining those skills with her artistic eye to design beautiful, easy-to-use websites.

What can I say about Julie. I have known her for a couple of years and her training is absolutely fantastic. I have been on several of her courses and she teaches in a fun and straight forward way. She drip feeds you and doesn’t expect everything to go in all at once but she will go over it again and again until it clicks and then she will move on. Training is such an important thing in photography and mentoring with Jules I know I am in safe hands. Thoroughly recommended.
CONTEMPORARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
JULIE OSWIN – AUTHOR
Photography is a fluid environment for photographers. There isn’t any room for complacency. Gaining expertise, training with the ever-evolving technology and continuing to move forward within the industry, is a must. Leaping into digital photography was a big step Julie Oswin took in 2001. After she sold all of her Bronica 6×6 gear and purchasing the Digital SLR Nikon D100 camera and lenses. Digital photography, computers and photoshop was an exciting time for creativity. After a chance meeting with Book Illustrator and Publisher, Angie Patchell at The Spring Fair at the NEC that Angie invited Julie to write a book on her wedding photography. After several months the concept was finally completed. Angie published two books on wedding photography during 2006, Julie’s on contemporary wedding photography and the second on documentary photography by Morag MacDonald. Both books are now over 15 years old, technically out of date, but they still contain useful and comprehensive tips, checklists and tried-and-tested working formulas. Stand still in this industry and digital technology will pass you by.
” I’ve tried various hosting platforms in the past, but they were all just so generic and impersonal. Then I saw a site that Julie Oswin had done, and I approached and asked her to do mine. I am thrilled that I went to her. She pretty much did all the work; all I had to do was provide images and text; she did everything else, even designed my logo, which I love.
Julie has managed to capture my personality into the pages just by talking to me; I never realised a website could do that ” – Jenny
My Voice Coach
” The design for my website myvoicecoach.co.uk is exceptionally good. Many people have commented about how attractive it looks at first viewing and how easy it is to navigate. Personally, I think it does a very good job of showing, in a clear and concise way, the voice and presentation coaching that I can offer. Thank you so much Julie! ” – Cindy
